Some activities for a baby shower

As you probably know we are expecting a baby in December. And since this is our first experience we have had to attend a baby shower. I'll share some tips and interesting activities that allow you to spend any quality time with the guests you have at your Baby Shower or that of a friend.

Origin of Baby Showers

The Baby Shower (Baby Shower) is a small party held between the 7th and 8th month of pregnancy, in honor of the mother. This ritual is prevalent today in several countries, sometimes under a different name, including the United States, Turkey, England, Brazil or India. Previously, it was a ceremony where there were only women who participated, but now more and more show also included the father who is much more involved in family.

It is customary that the show is organized by a person in the circle of expectant parents, a sister, a friend or a cousin. The reason is simple to avoid giving the book to expectant parents and the mother who usually is in her seventh or eighth month of pregnancy may therefore be more easily movable. And despite the boost of energy during late pregnancy some evils are still present especially at the end of the day ... I say this from experience, I who had a great pregnancy so far.


Obviously the fact that someone else prepares it also allows the event to surprise parents with activities and gifts. For my part, I wanted to happen in our apartment because we were not many and we knew the place was still welcoming to fifteen people.

So I took by the organization with my sister who gave me a helping hand for the day. There was the decor simple to make and animate the various activities during the day. So my sister was a very good host for the event and was able to involve the guests at the various games I will explain in a moment.

Guess what we eat!

This activity is more oriented towards the future parents who are having to try and blindfolded in different baby foods. Obviously to make it a little complicated, do not choose as applesauce or fruit puree but also a bit unusual flavors such as meat or vegetables that we do not usually eat in this form. Personally, there are a few spoonfuls where I apparently made frightful grimaces and deep down I thought it was really horrible to eat this kind of stuff for kids!

What is in the bag?

This activity unfortunately we have not had time to do it, but it can be fun and easy to achieve. These fill a bag (ideally layer) of various objects we use for baby. Some simpler to recognize that other people have to reach into the bag and have your choice a time to identify objects in more detail possible. For example, 10 objects for 30 seconds of tracking in the bag. People familiar with the children easily guess several things but those who are not yet surrounded by baby will certainly have greater difficulty identifying some accessories.
